A horse lover since childhood, I had a dream of spending my life with these magnificent creatures. My journey began in 1999 when I acquired 3 horses and learned quickly that they offered much more than a fun ride. In my quest to understand them more fully, I realized the depth of the horse-human connection and sought out avenues for exploring and developing that.

In 2007, I completed the Epona apprenticeship program with Linda Kohanov (author of books The Tao of Equus, Riding Between the Worlds, and The Way of the Horse) and Kathleen Barry Ingram, M.A. As an Epona instructor, I am qualified to teach Epona techniques in horse-human relationship skills, mind-body awareness, emotional fitness, assertiveness, and authentic community.

I have officially achieved Level 2 in the Parelli Natural Horsemanship program and continue my own horsemanship studies with equine professionals Kathleen Lindley, Aimee Brimhall McCord, and Eddo Hoekstra.  Blending what I have learned from these instructors with the Epona approach, I am excited to help improve the horse-human relationships of new horse owners as well as accomplished equestrians.

I am also a Licensed Massage Therapist and Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance. I have studied yoga extensively with Gary Kraftsow of the American Viniyoga Institute and am a Certified Instructor with A.G. and Ganesh Mohan of Svastha Yoga and Ayurveda.  I am especially interested in Yoga Philosophy and the study of the Yoga Sutras.

And I am excited to announce that this year (2010) I am enrolled in the Distance Learning Program of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition to become a Holistic Health Coach.  This will enable me to offer additional services that will contribute to an overall personal growth experience here at Raven’s Quest!
